Saturday, May 24, barbershoppers from around the area attended Supercharging Your Chapter, a seminar by Paul Ellinger.  Paul Ellinger really knows his stuff and knows how to deliver it.  The event, fun, exciting and educational, was sponsored by the General Assembly Chorus and NSC District of the Barbershop Harmony Society.  This is one way barbershoppers work to improve their singing.

The General Assembly chorus in warmup before our spring show

Saturday, April 26, we had a fabulous show with performances by championship quartets Storm Front and Epic. The General Assembly chorus, an esemble from CVE and Harmon Grits also sang.   The show was hosted by Greg Fischel from WRAL.  Reports all agreed that it was an excellent and highly entertaining show.  An afterglow at the Super Asin Buffet capped the evening.  The show was a fund raiser for the Pretty in Pink Foundation.  Thank you to our show sponsors and show program advertisers.

Warren Fusion received our grant from the Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival committee on February 4, 2014.  The award will be used in part to fund our educational outreach, both elementary and high school.  This includes support for our annual High School Quartet contest – scholarships and awards to contest winners and to offset the costs of providing music and performances in elementary schools.  It also will help us obtain new music to replace our aging repertoire and replenish our uniform fund and allow us to obtain updates to our uniforms to enhance our performances in Cary.

The chorus closed 2013 on December 30 at Rex Hospital with an ensemble singing for patients and nurses. Our next rehearsal is Monday, January 6, at the Glenaire Retirement Community in Cary. We are always looking for men who like to sing. Come join us. Have a happy new year!
