Saturday, May 24, barbershoppers from around the area attended Supercharging Your Chapter, a seminar by Paul Ellinger. Paul Ellinger really knows his stuff and knows how to deliver it. The event, fun, exciting and educational, was sponsored by the General Assembly Chorus and NSC District of the Barbershop Harmony Society. This is one way barbershoppers work to improve their singing.

Quartets from the General Assembly Chorus delivered over 30 singing Valentines this year in spite of the snow. If you didn't get one for your sweetheart this year there's always next year.
Warren Fusion received our grant from the Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival committee on February 4, 2014. The award will be used in part to fund our educational outreach, both elementary and high school. This includes support for our annual High School Quartet contest – scholarships and awards to contest winners and to offset the costs of providing music and performances in elementary schools. It also will help us obtain new music to replace our aging repertoire and replenish our uniform fund and allow us to obtain updates to our uniforms to enhance our performances in Cary.
We had a great planning session today for 2014. Big thanks to Denny Evans and Bob Clark for facilitating and keeping things moving.
The chorus closed 2013 on December 30 at Rex Hospital with an ensemble singing for patients and nurses. Our next rehearsal is Monday, January 6, at the Glenaire Retirement Community in Cary. We are always looking for men who like to sing. Come join us. Have a happy new year!
The General Assembly Chorus is getting ready for our Holiday Show this Wednesday. Here we are in warmup for our "dress rehearsal" performance at the Cypress of Raleigh community clubhouse.
